Former BBC Advisers Face Parliamentary Grilling Following Claims of Bias in Leaked Memorandum

We begin with inquiries from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, who leads the committee.

She initiates by offering context to the unauthorized document written by Michael Prescott and printed in a daily publication.

"I do not desire the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting in any particular direction, My only wish is for it neutral, fair and equitable," he says.

Upon being questioned whether he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, he replies: "No I don't. To be clear, tons of stuff the BBC does is top-tier - encompassing informative and non-factual content."

But he adds: "There is substantial tasks that needs to be done at the BBC."

A further former external British Broadcasting Corporation specialist interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the BBC extremely earnestly and that it has a "ongoing system and active debate" regarding evolving and intricate topics.

"Was the BBC prepared to engage in a thorough discussion and argument and implement changes?" she questions. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
