Conservative governors in multiple US territories have positioned National Guard units on readiness in anticipation of widespread demonstrations opposing Donald Trump and his agenda.

Demonstration Scope and Organization

Organizers of the "Anti-Monarchy" campaign declared that assemblies are scheduled at exceeding 2,500 locations throughout the United States.

According to demonstration organizers, the last Anti-Authoritarian gathering in June attracted over five million attendees denouncing Trump's political approach.

Regional Actions

Executives in the Lone Star State and the Old Dominion have officially mobilized their local National Guard troops, though the level of military visibility remains unclear.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott cited the "scheduled antifa-linked demonstration" as reasoning for mobilizing local military personnel.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin correspondingly directed mobilization of the state's National Guard contingent.

Ideological Statements

Rally leaders portrayed the assemblies as opposition to Trump's "strong-arm tactics."

"The president thinks his rule is absolute," participants argue on their website.

"Yet in this country, we oppose absolute rulers and we refuse to yield against turmoil, graft, and harshness."

Some Republicans have dubbed the rallies as "Anti-American" events.

Kansas Senator Roger Marshall reportedly stated prior to the rallies: "It's necessary to deploy the National Guard."

"With luck it'll be calm. I have reservations," he added.

Opposition Position

Democratic officials condemned the activation of military troops.

Texas Democrat Gene Wu asserted: "Dispatching equipped soldiers to suppress peaceful protests is what monarchs and dictators do — and Greg Abbott just shown he's one of them."
