Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the global break, however can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
